Celebrities are not adults

Filed under: Uncategorized — sesame seed @ 2:09 am

That’s why we worship them.
If they were adults, we would hate them.
In our culture, “adulthood” has become synonymous with “a life of drudgery and misery, trying to survive and, more often than not, compromising your wants to please others.”
Children, instead, are coddled and sentimentalized. They can’t really do anything wrong, though current draconian legal trends are trying to change this.
Celebrities are children; we tell them they never have to grow up, if they don’t want to, that positively every thing they do is amazing.
When’s the last time someone told you that? Wouldn’t you love it if someone did tell you that?
Please, don’t become an adult. Become a celebrity instead.
But an old celebrity–full of art, wonder, and whimsy, not a new celebrity, stuffed with their own hedonism.
